Hey there. Who are we speaking with and what’s your role in Fear Of Flying?

I’m Pete Broadway and I’m the singer/guitarist and songwriter.

You released your debut EP Somewhere over the Pacific at the back end of last year. Can you describe its sound in five adjectives?

Poppy, moody, fun, easy, broad

Your band is made up of veterans of Melbourne’s music scene. How did you guys find each other?

Jayson, Steve and I have played in bands together for years, and Aran has been a friend for about the same time, and things just seemed to fall into place when it was time to start this group.

Is Fear of Flying heavily influenced by any of your members’ past projects?
Yes and no, it was originally an acoustic solo EP of mine that I was writing, so with that, yes. But musically it’s a far cry from anything we’ve written before.

You’ll be playing at The Evelyn Hotel on Friday April 9 for a charity show, ButtiFest 2016. What can we expect from the lineup?

I’ve put together a lineup that I thought would have someone for everyone, from a live electro duo, acoustic acts, punk band, rapper, producer, and also us.

You’ve said that you’re always available as a support for Swifty. How’d your love affair with Taytay begin?

Stumbled onto the Fearless album and fell in love with the writing. Then Red was released and I lost my mind, little did I know by the time 1989 came out, the whole band were in love.
