Arriving back in Australia in just a few days, 5 Seconds of Summer have announced a tour of Australia this August. The all ages gigs place new singles with old favourites such as ‘Want You Back’ and ‘She Looks So Perfect’. After kicking off in on their home turf of Sydney, followed by Brisbane, the guys head south to Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
Melbourne’s Festival Hall will host 5 Seconds of Summer on Monday August 13. All tickets go on sale at 2pm this Friday May 25. You can receive access to the ticket pre-sale by pre-ordering the boys’ upcoming album Youngblood via the 5SOS Shop. The album is officially out on June 22.
“Growing up is what we had to do on Youngblood,” says vocalist and guitarist Luke Hemmings. “Seven years as a band may seem like a long time, but we were teenagers when we started. We had to look at each other and say, ‘Are we going to stop now, or do this forever?’ Because if we continue, then we have to go farther than we ever have before.”
As 5SOS return to our shores this week, they’ll be playing two exclusive shows. The set list will include favourites from their older albums plus their latest singles ‘Youngblood’ and ‘Want You Back’. ‘Youngblood’ is killing it in the Australian charts with the #1 spot on iTunes, Shazam and Apple Music.
5SOS’s last tour sold out in less than five minutes, and they’ve been called the “biggest new rock act in the world” by Rolling Stone. Made up of Luke Hemmings and Michael Clifford on guitar, Calum Hood on bass and Ashton Irwin on drums and everyone sharing vocals, they’ve won an AMA, a People’s Choice Award, an iHeartRadio Award, and two ARIAs.
