Billed as “one-man indie pop art making machine”, Young Cairo emerges with a track that isn’t quite as insufferable as such a label like that would have you believe. Ghosts is an affable take on the surf rock revival of a couple years back, with its sunny disposition helping overcome an adherence to expired trends. It’s a bit like what would happen if Wavves scored The Lion King.
