Uber Taxi has been launched as the newest way to get a ride with Uber.
Now you have the option to request a taxi using your Uber app, with the service slated to cost more than Uber X and no specific changes to surge pricing, just the assurance it will cost the upfront amount.
The service will offer fully licensed taxi drivers are ready to take you where you want to go, although 13Cabs has already expressed concerns that the app won’t ensure safe driver working hour limits among other protocols.

Uber Taxi’s three-step process
1. Request
Open the app and enter your destination in the “Where to?” box. Once you confirm your pickup and destination addresses are correct, select Uber Taxi at the bottom of your screen. Then tap Confirm Uber Taxi. Once you’ve been matched, you’ll see your driver’s picture and vehicle details and can track their arrival on the map.
2. Ride
Hop in when your driver arrives. Your driver has your destination and directions on the fastest route to get there, but you can always request a specific route. You can also share your whereabouts and trip status with friends and family, all right from the app. If you are riding with friends, you can also split the fares through the app. It’s easy and stress-free.
3. Hop out
You’ll be automatically charged through your payment method on file, so you can exit your Uber Taxi as soon as you arrive. Remember to rate your driver at the end of the ride.
