Following a tour of Canada, highly regarded art rock violinist and improviser Xani returns to Kew Court House with guitarist Cristian Barbieri.

As a musician, improviser, collaborator, singer, songwriter and principally an electric violin player, Xani Kolac approaches music making from many perspectives, having developed a distinct expression that moves in the spaces between pop, jazz, electronic and chamber.

Xani’s collaborator Cristian Barbieri, who is also her husband, has recorded and mixed her music during this year. The new music developed under the thematic framework of a ‘Guide to Getting Through This’, offers ruminations on grief, love, depression, loss and inspiration.

“I don’t often get the chance to make music with Cristian, so this is a really special opportunity for us to share our love of music and playing together with audiences”, Xani Kolac.

“I love the audience Kew Court House attracts, and its intimacy. This would be an ideal show for lovers, for date nights, or even for people in search of love in the most unlikely of places.” Xani Kolac.

Seating is allocated theatre-style. The Arts Bar will be open from 7pm.
