Wybie say farewell for now to their saxophonist extraodinaire Flora Carbo as she departs for Denmark. We also thought it was time to call it stumps in what has been a beautiful chapter of music in our lives so come down and give Flora and Wybie one last goodbye!
Wybie began in 2019 as the brainchild of guitarist, producer and songwriter Kyle Muir. An exploration into songcraft with a DIY attitude, Wybie soon evolved into a fully fledged freak-folk band featuring some of Naarm’s most skilled and creative musicians.
Wybie’s music has changed a lot since it’s inception but it’s wonky charm remains the throughline. Their 2025 release Ashbourne is their most adventurous release yet with grimy baritone guitar, fuzzed out saxaphone and lush vocal harmonies wrapped up Muir’s heartwarming storytelling style.
Joining Wybie will be Captain Beep Boop and Moby Beefheart.
