Win: We’re giving away 26 packs of Haiver hard teas, brewed on a beer base

Words by staff writer

We're giving away 26 four-packs of Haiver hard teas and entering couldn't be easier.

Haiver Spirits is launching Haiver Hard Tea, positioning itself as one of Australia’s first brewed hard teas. The independent Geelong distillery has taken a different approach to the traditional iced tea format by brewing tea on a beer base rather than simply mixing tea with spirits.

The brewing method gives Haiver Hard Tea a silky mouthfeel and gentle carbonation that aims to replicate the flavour profile of actual iced tea. Chemical engineer turned distiller Matthew Anastassiou founded Haiver and developed the product as an alternative take on the boozy iced tea category.

The range launches nationally this summer with two flavours. Summer Peach combines sun-ripened peach notes with a clean finish, while Tropical layers pineapple, mango, passionfruit and coconut with a zesty lime element. Both varieties come in 330ml cans at 4.5 percent ABV, retailing for $26 per four-pack.

This marks Haiver’s first entry into the ready-to-drink market. The distillery has built its reputation through small-batch experimentation with gin and vodka products. The hard tea range represents an expansion from Haiver’s core spirits into the growing RTD category ahead of the summer drinking season.
