From Swedish musical instrument innovators, Freedrum Studio AB, comes the Freedrum: a new portable addition to the modern musician’s arsenal.
A response to a decline in acoustic drum kit sales in recent years, the Freedrum uses lightweight sensor technology to stimulate the experience of playing a full drum kit. For those who don’t have space for a full kit or are restricted from practising due to noise issues, this is a gamechanger.
The sensors connect wirelessly to smartphones, tablets and computers and allow drummers to play by striking the air with different angles and velocities. Using a combination of technology sampled at a high rate, each hit of the virtual kit is accurately reflected with a corresponding sound. Just plug in your headphones, slip the sensors on your sticks and feet and you can play anywhere.
