Hartbeats Sundays has landed at Whitehart Bar for a free weekly dose of live jazz and grooves.
The CBD’s hidden container bar is kicking off 2026 with Soul Lane Sessions, a weekly Sunday afternoon gathering that brings together live musicians and DJs in the laneway space just off Little Bourke Street.
The 11 January edition features vocalist Shantael Raphael opening proceedings from 3pm before NHTV x CDMK selectors HDSNJMSJR, Amin Payne and Taijae take the reins from 5pm through to close.

Amin Payne is a fixture of Melbourne’s jazz and soul underground, having co-founded the Condensed Milk collective and collaborated with members of Hiatus Kaiyote across various projects. His sets blend everything from funk and afrobeat to deep house, drawing on the same neo-soul and jazz fusion sounds that have put Melbourne’s scene on the global map in recent years.
Whitehart Bar itself is tucked away in a converted car park at the end of Whitehart Lane, a two-storey shipping container setup with graffiti murals, wall projections and rotating food trucks. The venue has been operating as a laneway hideaway for CBD drinkers since 2017, offering craft beers, cocktails and +39 Pizzeria serving Neapolitan pies.
The Hartbeats series runs every Sunday, with Soul Lane Sessions becoming a regular fixture for those looking to ease out of the weekend with live music and afternoon drinks in a low-key setting.
