100% Phat with Mizhap

That’s phat with an unequivocal p-h and they’re back to present Mizhap at Whitehart this August. Mizhap’s been busy, collaborating with Greeley to release the new track Outside The Box, which has amassed an impressive 10k views on YouTube in its first two weeks. Mizhap will bring Outside The Box to Melbourne’s favourite box in Whitehart on August 4. Don’t miss it!
Mothafunk Residency

Come make your Wednesdays a little warmer this winter at Whitehart, as self-proclaimed vibe dealer Mothafunk will tackle a monster residency at Whitehart Bar throughout August. Mothafunk will assemble some of the city’s finest DJs to soundtrack your humpday. You can expect soulful house, funk, R&B, Afrobeats, and everything in between. If it’s funky, it’s fair game.
With four shows lined up, records are set to be slung and songs to be sung. Fun isn’t just for the weekend. Come get your mid-week groove in Wednesdays this August. Free entry, music from 5pm.

Naarm DJ stalwart Paz is back with a new track! Having traversed the industry for more than 15 years, Paz has seen a fair amount of success. Boasting support slots alongside international artists, an incredible producing CV and live shows that keep everyone coming back for more, Paz and his new release Permesso Fagiolini promise to rock your socks off.
What was captured as a field recording in a Milano grocery store, has been cut up, seasoned and served as the house appetiser you present to the dance-floor of the hungry. Ingredients: 909 claps, de-tuned percussion, electro bassline, freestyle drum patterns, random “Bean Permit” vocal and 80’s energy flashes.
Brother Julian (Disco Leone Records) living in Naarm via Vicenza Italy, is the translator. His influences are youthful journeys to European house clubs in a cul de sac trampled both by Roman sentry and millennial Spragga-wearing delinquents. BJ has upped the appetiser into a main; a 4×4 house remix with EQ-filtered chords and 00s inspired drums.

As with all good things, August will come to an end. To bid adieu fittingly, Whitehart has Genki scheduled for a Saturday night send-off. Bringing along with him his unique, genre-melting style of disc-slinging, Genki is sure to light up your night as we say goodbye to our winter worries. Don’t be square.
