When Pigs Fly brought in 2026 with farm animals, three stages and an all-star lineup at Collingwood Children's Farm.

There’s something undeniably special about counting down to midnight while surrounded by actual pigs, goats and chickens. When Pigs Fly returned to Collingwood Children’s Farm for another New Year’s Eve celebration, transforming the beloved Abbotsford institution into a sprawling dance party across three distinct stages.

The weather gods delivered an absolute gift, with warm summer skies providing the perfect backdrop for a day-to-night affair. Punters sprawled across the grassy hills between sets, soaking up the sunshine before heading back to catch their favourites.

The live music offerings hit particularly hard this year. Andrew Gurruwiwi Band brought powerful sounds from Arnhem Land in front of a by-then packed crowd, after Wilson Tanner delivered their signature ambient explorations. The duo are utterly mesmerising live, and the smattering of people drifting through the gates were treated to an absolute gem, who thoroughly deserve their rapidly growing streaming numbers.

Thee Marloes made the trip from Indonesia, and Close Counters had the crowd moving with their signature grooves. SO.Crates rounded out a diverse live bill that felt genuinely curated rather than thrown together. Special mention to SO.Crates, they’ve been one of the city’s best hip hop acts for many years now, and they bring a superb energy – even if the crowd are lounging back on the grass!

On the DJ front, the international contingent brought serious heat. Chicago house legend Jamie 3:26 was an obvious drawcard, while Korea’s FFan, Thailand’s Pam Anantr and the UK’s Marie Malarie added global flavour throughout the day. Local heroes like MzRizk, Tina Disco, moktar and O’Honey held their own alongside the internationals, proving Melbourne’s DJ community remains world-class.

Cazeaux O.S.L.O. kept things flowing as MC, tying the whole experience together as crowds bounced between stages. The farm setting continues to be When Pigs Fly’s secret weapon, offering something no warehouse or club can replicate: actual space to breathe, grass beneath your feet, and the occasional goat or peacock sighting between sets.
