Eschewing the usual frenzy, it fosters a relaxed, community-centric atmosphere where festival-goers can enjoy a unique farm-in-the-city experience just 5km from Melbourne’s CBD. This year’s event will feature 20 acts across three stages, ensuring a rich mix of sounds and styles for attendees to explore.

The festival’s 2024 lineup showcases a dynamic blend of genres, including electronic, jazz, psychedelic, reggae, world music and disco. On the live stage, highlights include Naarm’s own dream pop trio Acopia, the cross-cultural funk of Ajak Kwai and Jakarta’s genre-blending Ali.

Also on the roster are Allara, known for her culturally significant performances, and No Fixed Address, the pioneering Aboriginal band with a legacy in contemporary music.

DJ enthusiasts will also find plenty to celebrate. International acts like Scott Grooves from Detroit and Swiss DJ Sassy J will share the decks with local talents such as Wax’o Paradiso and Boo Mojo. Notable additions include Disco Mediterranea’s Mediterranean-meets-disco fusion and the energetic sets of Eternal Love from Italy.

With a larger range of food and drink options — including local vendors and natural wines — this year’s festival is set to offer a true celebration of community and music. Attendees can expect a memorable experience as they dance under the stars and ring in the New Year in style.

When Pigs Fly has proven to be more than just a festival — it’s a beloved tradition, and 2024 promises to elevate the experience even further. With an exciting lineup and an inviting atmosphere, this NYE event is the perfect way to bid adieu to the year gone by and welcome in the new one.
