James Reyne

He’s one of Australia’s most prolific performers, best known for his work in one of our biggest bands, Australian Crawl. They had such hits as ‘Reckless’ and ‘The Boys Light Up’.

You can catch James Reyne at the marvellous Corner hotel this Sunday arvo, and there’s no doubt you’ll hear hits from all eras of his career, from his early frontman days to current times with multiple solo releases under his belt.

They are quickly becoming the next big thing in Aussie music. The three piece have an interesting story behind them, they were formed in early 2020 at a songwriting camp by Death Cab for Cutie’s Chris Walla.

They have been applauded for their unique blend of blues elements, folk music, and indie pop. Their music has garnered much airplay on Triple J, and many more commercial and community radio stations.

They are hitting the Northcote Social Club stage tonight for two shows – an early one kicking off at 5, and a late one starting at 9. Check out more info on the shows here.

Shake Em Down Fest

This mini fest is kicking off this afternoon from 4, and showcasing some of Australia’s best up and coming bands.

It’ll feature the amazing Louis King and The Liar’s Klub, who are some of our biggest and best performers in the blues roots realm and have been lauded for their energetic live performances.

On top of that, attendees will also get to see Jane Hilson’s Trio Grande, and Paper Jane, two groups you’d wish you’d had known of before heading to this show.

A Sanctuary of Quietude Album Launch

Happening at the beautiful St Johns Anglican Church in Camberwell, up and coming composers Callum Mintzis and Pat Jaffe put on this amazing show.

It’s set to showcase their upcoming release, A Sanctuary of Quietude, a classical collection that’ll truly evoke a number of emotions from listeners. The show will feature Callum on trombone and Pat on Piano, backed up by the talented Nordic String Quartet.

Steve Sedegreen Trio

He’s known as one of Australia’s most frequent and popular jazz pianists, having worked with a plethora of different artists across the genre.

He’ll be joined by fellow talented performers James Clark on the bass, and Andrew Swann on the drums, who give some of New York’s jazz session musicians a run for their money. This show is set to feature some classic Jazz standards you’ll know and love, some newer works, and of course lots of stories!
