International Women's Day is happening on March 8 and one of the day's most interesting events is happening in Brunswick.
Renowned Melbourne photographer Suzanne Phoenix will launch her 2022 What Does International Women’s Day Mean to Me? project at The Brunswick Ballroom, featuring a highly-emotive photographic portrait exhibition and a highly-diverse lineup.
The lineup is especially resonant given this year, featuring Melbourne’s amazing cis and trans women, and gender diverse people – artists, musicians, burlesque and queer performers, DJ’s, actors, sex workers, professors and activists.

Also happening at Brunswick Ballroom next week, Eltham Collegians-turned-Tik Tok indie darlings Good Morning are launching their new album Barnyard. Despite their viral success, the duo have been largely denied the chance to play live, creating a pressure cooker scenario that will likely lead to one hell of a show…at least as much as their lackadasical style will allow. What Does International Women’s Day Mean to Me? general admission tickets for are $37, and 10% of any profits from the 2022 series will be evenly split between Djirra and Support Act. For ticketing info, head here.
