As well as the stunning tulips, the festival offers a vast range of live entertainment, market stalls, food and beverages. They have themed weekends, making it a celebration of culture as much as one of flowers.
Opening with the Turkish Weekend (September 15-17), the festival celebrates the origins of the tulip with traditional performers, music, folk dancing and art.
The Dutch weekend (September 22-24) is all about clogs, live bands, tempting Dutch food and games.
Enjoy food, wine and beer from both the local region and around the world with the Food, Wine and Jazz weekend (September 29 – October 1).
The Irish Weekend (October 6-8) includes Celtic arts and beers, as well as pipers and dancers. There might even be Leprechauns.
You can also visit the festival during the week. So come to the Dandenongs, and stop and smell the tulips.
