Western Australia's premier Neil Young tribute act The Human Highway are finally heading east this November.
For a decade, The Human Highway have been packing out venues across WA with their authentic take on the legendary Canadian songwriter’s expansive catalogue. Fronted by David Hyams and Rose Parker, the six-piece outfit captures both sides of Young’s musical personality – from gentle folk numbers to the electric guitar-driven rock of his Crazy Horse era.
Rather than delivering note-for-note reproductions, The Human Highway pride themselves on improvisation, particularly during extended solos on tracks like Like A Hurricane, Cortez the Killer and Southern Man. This approach keeps each performance fresh while maintaining the essence of Young’s original arrangements and instrumentation.

Band members include Hyams on vocals and guitars, Parker on vocals and acoustic guitar, Roy Martinez on bass and keyboards, Russell Wilson on drums, Adam Gare on fiddle and Jeremy Threlfall on pedal steel and electric guitars. Together they dig deep into Young’s catalogue of over 1000 songs, including material from Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.
Victorian audiences can expect classics alongside lesser-known gems that hardcore Neil Young fans will appreciate. The band’s renditions of orchestral pieces from the Harvest album, including A Man Needs A Maid, have particularly impressed audiences at their WA shows.
This spring tour coincides with Neil Young’s 80th birthday celebrations, making it a fitting tribute to one of music’s most influential and idiosyncratic artists.
