Fronted by Eric Burdon, The Animals are quintessential British rock royalty. After a whopping 60 years in the game, they’ll be bringing their We Gotta Get Out Of This Place anniversary tour to Australia.
After coming out onto the scene in the 60s, The Animals quickly became a favourite in the UK as well as across the world. Best known for their raunchy blues-rock sound, they won the hearts and minds of fans, so much so that in 1994 they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
They’ll be bringing countless unforgettable hits like The House of the Rising Sun, It’s My Life, Don’t Bring Me Down and I’m Crying to the stage at Wanstock, capping off a big day of music.
Offering support will be the New Zealand rockstars Dragon, who will be bringing their iconic tracks like Rain, April Sun in Cuba, Are You Old Enough and Speak No Evil.
They’ll be joined by the iconic 70s rock group Ted Mulry Gang, Melbourne powerhouse trio Standing Room Only, rising local alt-punk start Daydreamers and classic Aussie rock cover band Strait Shooters.
Wanstock 2024 is not only just the last time fans will be able to catch The Animals live in Melbourne; it’s also a celebration of the legacy of some of the most experienced names in Aussie rock.
