Irish contemporary musician Wallis Bird is setting herself a staggering challenge this Sunday – she’ll be playing a continuous gig from midday to midnight at Fitzroy’s Bar Open.
Having experimented with the 12-hour gig idea in Berlin, she’s confident she’ll be able to treat fans to the same unique experience in Melbourne.
Wallis Bird is best known for her fusion of folk, blues and funk that’s been compared to Ani DiFranco and Fiona Apple.
The 12-hour gig comes off the back of shows at Mullum Music Festival, Woodford Folk Festival, and Bird’s first Australian tour which saw many of her shows sell out.
