Video premiere: SAIYON’s ‘Getting High’ is a cathartic anthem for breaking out of bad relationships

With a debut like this, SAIYON is destined for big things.

Having recently made her debut with the single ‘Getting High’, Melbourne future soul artist SAIYON continues to impress with the track’s brand-new film clip.

‘Getting High’ sees a silky blend of pulsing synth, an R&B-infused beat and hypnotic vocals come together to create a song that’ll be stuck in your head for days, and the single’s visual counterpart is equally as enticing.

Drawing from a toxic relationship, ‘Getting High’ looks at the behaviour and traits we tend to excuse in the name of love.

“This song focuses on a time in my life where I felt particularly vulnerable,” said SAIYON of the track when we caught up with her recently. “It’s all about reclaiming your independence and empowering yourself to get out of a negative situation or environment.”

A blur of vibrant yet moody lighting and moving bodies, the clip is a surreal dip into a dark headspace and is certain to strike a chord with just about anyone who has ever dated.
