Video premiere: Melbourne punks LVIV mock modern conservatives with ‘Young Libs’

LVIV

“Today’s fascist fuckboys, tomorrow’s Liberal leaders.”

Homegrown punk five-piece LVIV have dropped a vintage-looking film clip for their hard-hitting track ‘Young Libs’.

Directed and edited by Mickey Mason, the clip was filmed on a Super 8 camera around the Melbourne CBD and looks like something straight out of a 20th-century Soviet propaganda film. The video comes complete with shots of polo shirts, jumpers wrapped around shoulders and red MAGA caps, all potential indicators of a Liberal voter in these modern times. You know the type.

LVIV wrapped up their residency at The Tote in September and have also released their self-titled debut EP on cassette via Melbourne indie label Roolette Records.

Check out the clip for ‘Young Libs’ below:

LVIV are playing at the Fitzroy Pinnacle on Saturday November 30. For more info, head to the Facebook event.
