Melbourne singer/songwriter Liam Liney has unveiled the video for his debut single, Soaking Cherries, the first track taken from his solo EP In the Course of Love due out later this year.
Soaking Cherries is a claustrophobic ballad, that touches on attachment, loss and love. It was recorded by Nick Huggins (Bonnie Prince Billy, Mick Turner, Seagull, Whitley), in Point Lonsdale, and features Kit Warhurst (Rocket Science) on drums, Ceci Dowling (Oh Mercy) on viola, James Saunders (Gotye band) on keys and CJ Rhodes (Lisa Mitchell band) on bass.
Having written mainly in collaboration in his previous bands, Liam spent 2016 writing and recording his first batch of solo music in Melbourne and New York City, and playing stripped back piano and guitar shows.
He’s now playing with a 4-piece band which includes Chris Valdemarin (Money for Rope), and the aforementioned CJ Rhodes and Jimmy Saunders.
