Victoria’s Pride Street Party

The iconic Gertrude and Smith Streets will once again be transformed into a free, all-day, jam-packed, block party for all ages, with multiple live music stages and performances from local and international musicians and artists to celebrate Victoria’s diverse LGBTIQ+ communities.

First Nations artist, writer, and producer Sycco (a.k.a Sash McLeod) will headline this summer’s street party. Also featured will be the acclaimed pop powerhouse and queer icon, Kira Puru, the ‘Chinese/Cambodian Prince of Dark Pop’ JXCKY, up-and-coming queer pop artist Tom Nethersole, talented indie-rock singer and songwriter Rin McArdle, and LION is set to upstate crowds with sharpshooting rap stylings and electropop rhythms steeped in his Ethiopian heritage.

YUMMY, the multi-award-winning cabaret company, will impress with their slick aesthetic and camp sensibility, in a special family extravaganza, alongside returning queer, genre-bending punk duo Cry Club, joining the adored 80s all-women supergroup The Lost Girls, with more performers to be announced.

There will be a visual feast of artwork to consume, including the Melbourne debut of ‘Still Thriving’, a series by Yuwi, Torres Strait and South Sea Islander artist, Dylan Mooney, forming part of the Yarra Peel St Park Projection program.

Local businesses all down Gertrude and Smith Street will benefit from the party – serving food and drink to the thousands of people expected to attend across the day, while some will be incorporated into the party with shopfront activations and performances in venues.

Victoria’s Pride is an opportunity for LGBTQIA+ Victorians and the wider community to come together as one to celebrate the remarkable journey of equality through inspirational arts, community involvement, food, and culture.

Running from 11am to 9pm, the street party will have multiple stages with free, live entertainment showcasing a range of performances including music, comedy, guest speakers, circus, drag and art installations.

Midsumma is delivering Victoria’s Pride in partnership with the Victorian State Government.
