Sixty-two projects will share in more than $1 million in funding, which will go on to create opportunities for hundreds of artists and workers within the independent arts sector.
The grants will support the development of more than 30 projects – covering dance, theatre, music, visual arts, and multimedia alongside international residencies and presentation opportunities for Victorian artists.
More than a dozen grants will support literary projects including new editions of publications Kill Your Darlings and Archer Magazine, a ‘First Nations’ issue of The Lifted Brow, and a podcast series on historical literature, Dead & Buried.
“The latest round of VicArts grants will provide crucial support to Victoria’s independent artists, the driving force of our creative industries,” said Minister for Creative Industries Martin Foley.
“VicArts grants ensure we have a pipeline of new creative projects and initiatives that create employment, build careers and sharpen Victoria’s leading edge as the creative state.”
