Following celebrated seasons of VIANNE and VIANNE AGAIN, choreographer Shelley Lasica returns to this work for one night only at the Union Theatre.
After years of exploration and reinvention, Shelley Lasica presents the latest chapter of VIANNE, a work that has captivated audiences since its beginning in 2007.
VIANNE is about the space and place one holds within, one that is also inhabited by and with other people: it is about knowing and how one knows. Where is VIANNE, what does VIANNE know and how does she know it?
VIANNE premiered at fortyfivedownstairs in 2008 before appearing at Dancehouse as part of Dance Massive 2009. Recontextualising the work, VIANNE AGAIN was presented in 2012 and 2013 at MADA, the ABC Southbank Centre and RMIT’s Design Hub. INSIDE VIANNE AGAIN, an installation with Anne-Marie May and Helen Grogan, was presented as part of NGV’s Melbourne Now 2013.
Now, VIANNE inhabits the THEATRE.
