Flying Nun artist Vera Ellen and her full band is playing their first show ever in Melbourne following their performance at SXSW Sydney. Named ‘Best Alternative Artist’ at the 2022 Aotearoa Music Awards, Wellington-based Vera Ellen is a rising star in Aotearoa’s indie-rockscape, releasing ‘Ideal Home Noise’, in March 2023 to wide critical acclaim.
Ending the night, eclectic art punk/shoegaze/krautrock inspired collective Kosmetika! Their fusion of influences from all over the world brings a unique blend of fuzzy guitars, samplers, drums, synths and pop sensibilities.
Opening the show, Georgia Knight (solo) known for her resonant vocal range which can change in an instant from ear-whisperingly close to frenzied thrash.
Followed by Deuce, the project of Curtis Wakeling (The Ocean Party, Pop Filter, Velcro) and Manchester-born visual artist Kayleigh Heydon.
