Earlier this year, a 6.0 earthquake hit central Italy, destroying homes and killing over 300 residents of the town of Amartice. Carnevale Australia is asking Melburnians to party with a conscience to aid the victims of this natural disaster.
For the first time ever, Melbourne will be the host of a two-week-long celebration of great food, booze and music that emulates the Venetian tradition that is over 800 years old. Party-goers will bask in the best Melbourne has to offer, but only if you meet the entry requirements: each attendee must come dressed to impress, mask included.
The pinnacle event of the festival, the Masquerade ball, will see ticket-holders indulge in a three-course meal and will be serenaded by a full band. The theme? ‘Amore’, of course.
