The festival makes its return next January.
In light of the uncertainty shrouding the music industry, which has hindered the touring abilities of international artists, UNIFY Gathering has announced it will be going all-Australian in 2021.
When the festival launched in 2015, it featured a lineup complete with Australians and as it embarks on its seventh instalment the festival is eager to celebrate the big steps Australian heavy music has taken since then.
Speaking about the announcement, UNIFY said that now was the right time to inform their fans.
“In all of this chaos, one message stands as true as ever: music saves lives. It’s the inspiration in our lives and it’s the basis of communities that can band together to survive through tough times. We wanted this announcement out now to declare our intentions, and give the people in our community something to look forward to,” the festival said in a statement.
The festival is going back to its roots and revitalised to be doing so. The debut lineup included the likes of The Amity Affliction, Northlane, In Hearts Wake, Thy Art Is Murder, Hellions and more. These are bands who have defined the next half-decade of heavy music in Australia; for UNIFY, it’s time to do it all again.
The lineup has yet to be revealed but keep your eyes peeled for when the big announcement drops.
UNIFY Gathering 2021 goes down from Thursday January 21 to Sunday January 24 in Tarwin Lower. Head to festival’s Facebook page to keep up to date with any announcements.
