UK trip-hop legends Morcheeba announce Australian tour with Unkle

Words by staff writer

UK trip-hop pioneers Morcheeba are returning to Australia in February 2026, marking 30 years since their formation with a national tour featuring Skye Edwards and Ross Godfrey.

The duo sold out their 2024 Australian run and are back with a set spanning their career, from debut album Who Can You Trust? through to platinum-selling Big Calm and their latest release Escape the Chaos.

With more than 10 million albums sold globally, Morcheeba have built their reputation on a fusion of downtempo grooves, psychedelic textures and soulful melodies.

Their catalogue includes collaborations with David Byrne and cinematic work with Steven Soderbergh, alongside hits like The Sea, Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day, Trigger Hippie and Otherwise. The tour promises material from across their three-decade career, blending their signature sound with newer tracks.

Special guest James Lavelle joins the tour, reviving UNKLE SOUNDS for his first Australian appearance since 2011. The genre-blurring experience draws from 30 years of UNKLE’s legacy alongside Lavelle’s work with Global Underground, Fabriclive and BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix. The show combines DJing, remixing and club culture with a visual presentation informed by his background in film, art and design. Lavelle has held residencies at Womb in Tokyo, Space in Ibiza and Fabric in London, alongside festival appearances worldwide.
