UK jazz prodigy Jacob Collier announces first ever Australian shows

jacobcollier.jpg

Jazz prodigy Jacob Collier will play two shows in Australia this April and May with gigs at Sydney’s The Basement and Melbourne’s Howler on his first ever trip Down Under.

This Londoner can play more instruments than we can pronounce – bouzoukis, ukulele, bass, banjo, mandolin – and is represented by one of the biggest names in music history, Quincey Jones, outspoken producer of Michael Jackson’s Off The Wall album.

Jacob’s debut album In My Room – recorded, composed and produced literally in his bedroom in 2016 – won two Grammy Awards and topped 23 international iTunes jazz charts not to mention his dedicated YouTube following.

Expect a one-man, many, many instruments show, with a multi-visual element developed in collaboration with Ben Bloomberg of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a fusion of too many genres to wrap our heads around: from folk to electronic, classical to gospel, a cappella and experimental.
