Originating in New York, the education initiative has since been held in London, Hong Kong, Sydney and San Francisco and is now making its way to the country’s cultural hub to present research, ideas and insights to bar patrons for free.

For one night only sessions will run across venues like Belleville, Loop Bar, 1000 £ Bend, Neapoli, Bar Ampere and Arbory Bar. For the first time, the City of Melbourne will also open its secret garden, ‘CityLab’, with a pop-up bar.

Lord Mayor Robert Doyle said Melbourne is the perfect location to attract international guests for events such as this.

“We are the world’s most liveable city. We believe knowledge sharing, through events like Raising the Bar, supports fresh ideas which are vital to the continued growth of our city.”
