ACMI and Film Victoria have announced the program for Series Mania Melbourne, Australia’s edition of the new French ten-day festival for high-quality television series. The festival will bring free screenings of over 20 TV programs and 3 web series to the Melbourne public, showcasing the range of programs flowing from the industry.

UK series Patrick Melrose, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as a troubled man on the road to recovery from substance abuse fuelled by his traumatic childhood, will make its debut at the festival, followed by ‘In Conversation’ Q&A session with the series’ screenwriter, David Nicholls and co-star Hugo Weaving. The festival will also host a full day of Q&As including the likes of Rachel Griffiths, Robert Connolly, and more special guests to be announced.

Amongst the spread of programs to be screened at the festival, you’ll find Wrong Kind of Black, an Australian four-piece drama meets comedy detailing the disco era, international crime drama Aquí en la Tierra (Here on Earth), Back In Very Small Business by the ABC and the brains behind Housos and loads more.
