Treaty negotiations began last month and will continue into 2025, and Treaty Day Out plays a key role in raising awareness and supporting this historic process.
Headlining the event will be A.B. Original, the dynamic duo known for their powerful performances and political lyrics addressing Aboriginal rights and justice. Country music legend Troy Cassar-Daley will make his Treaty Day Out debut, bringing his award-winning music to Gippsland after a stellar year touring his latest album.
Electric Fields, fresh from their Eurovision appearance, will also take the stage, blending traditional Indigenous culture with electronic music for a high-energy set.
Blak collective 3%, featuring Nooky, Dallas Woods, and Angus Field, will bring their chart-topping sounds, having recently won an ARIA Award for Best Hip Hop/Rap Release.
Other notable performers include Emily Wurramara, Uncle Kutcha Edwards, Uncle Dave Arden, MpathSoul, and Canisha, showcasing the rich diversity of First Nations talent.
In addition to incredible music, the festival will feature craft stalls, food trucks, and activities for the whole family. First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria members will also be on-site to provide information and engage with the community about the Treaty process.
“Treaty is all about empowering our communities and celebrating our cultures. We want to see local knowledge being used to come up with practical solutions at a community level, so it’s great to have events like this to bring people together.
“If you’re mob, help get Treaty done – enrol with the Assembly and enjoy Treaty Day Out Gippsland,” said First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria Co-Chair and First Nations woman, Ngarra Murray.
