Tracy McNeil & The GoodLife bringing their shimming Americana to Brunswick

Tracy McNeil & The GoodLife are one the most highly acclaimed Australian alt-country groups today and you can see why for yourself in Brunswick this weekend.

Tracy McNeil furthered her reputation as a pillar of the Australian music scene, and one of the country’s alt-country acts held in highest regard, with her latest album alongside The GoodLife: You Be The Lightning.

That release, in 2020, made massive waves in Australia and abroad, instantly forging a place for itself within the canon of Australian alt-country necessary listening. If by some dumb luck you’ve managed to miss it so far, do yourself a favour.

Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around Melbourne here.

Still their most recent release, expect to hear its graceful refrains in all their glory when McNeil and The Goodlife (Dan Parsons on lead guitar, McNeil on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, Bree Hartley on drums, Craig Kelly on bass and Brendan McMahon on keys) take to The Brunswick Ballroom stage on March 25.

After a spell playing the USA and Canadian festival circuits complete with a national tour, they’ll be playing a very special Melbourne show alongside guests Small Town Romance. It’s the fourth album from a group and artist who get better with age, stretching back to 2011’s Fire From Burning.

See why the album earned the ARIA nomination for ‘Best Blues and Roots Album’, won ‘Best Country Album’ at the Music Victoria Awards and received a nomination for the prestigious Australian Music Prize: Tracy McNeil & the GoodLife with special guests Small Town Romance at the Brunswick Ballroom, Friday 25 March.

General admission tickets cost $38.76. You can make it a night to remember with premium reserved seating tickets and a meal for $64.87. Buy your tickets here.
