Torch Fest 2022: The nationwide music festival shining a light on mental health

1 / 5

Torch Fest is more than just a uplifting music festival featuring some fantastic emerging Australian talent. It's a beacon of mental-health positivity and support.

Torch Fest music festival is heading around the country in 2022, stopping off at Max Watt’s in Melbourne, The Factory in Sydney, The Triffid in Brisbane, and Kambri at the ANU in Canberra.

The festival concept is unique in that it revolves around the idea of ‘Torch Songs’ – asking each artist to perform the song that has helped them through the hardest times.

Keep up with the latest music news, features, festivals, interviews and reviews here.

We all know the euphoric power of music, and the cathartic release that it can provide, so to see well-known and exceptionally talented artists open themselves up with the songs that have most helped them can be a powerful experience.

Torch Fest wants to create an atmosphere and togetherness, so they’ll be providing all attendees with a torch to light up during these performances. At the very least, it’s certain to be a spectacle, but at most, it could provide a very fitting celebration of the beginning of Australian society’s new normal.

The lineup will be different in each city, but every event packs plenty of familiar faces for Australian music connosieurs. It’s clear that each lineup has been carefully curated by the organisers, who have a keen eye on the hottest new talent on the Aussie radar. In addition, there’s a lot of variety in every event, which will keep proceedings fresh and entertaining throughout.

In case you’ve seen prior information, it was originally supposed to kick off in Sydney then Canberra, but due to delays, Melbourne is lucky numero uno. A great opportunity to support a kickass initiative, all the info you need is below.
