Tool have spent months hibernating in the studio, working on new compositions. Now it seems we’re finally hearing the first taste of their handiwork — slipping a small preview into their latest promo video.
Tool have been known to play a ‘Descending’ live in concert for a few years now. You can hear a new, high-quality studio version in the video below.
It comes in light of frontman Maynard James Keenan revealing that he’d finished writing the lyrics and melodies to Tool’s forthcoming album.
“My work is done,” Keenan wrote in a tweet that’s now been deleted. “Waiting on them to track. Then I can finish. Can’t track to music that isn’t recorded.”
