From his unrivalled competition record to the inception of one of video gaming’s most celebrated franchises, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, and the launch of The Skatepark Project, his foundation responsible for funding over 600 skateparks across the USA, Hawk’s impact is immeasurable. While the tour won’t see Hawk kicking around on a skateboard and doing a heelflip 720, the speaking tour, titled ‘An Evening With Tony Hawk’, will see him delivering talks about his illustrious career, including his meteoric rise to stardom in the ’90s, the inception of his mega-hit game series Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, and his current role as a motivational figure.

During the talks, Hawk will delve into “all his highlights and even some of the lows,” as stated by official information from Bird’s Nest Productions.

Accompanying this skateboarding luminary on the tour will be one of his favourite Australian bands, “Birdman: or the Unexpected Virtue of a Tony Hawk Pro Skater Cover Band.” They will be rocking out to the greatest hits from Tony’s iconic THPS series, including tracks from Rage Against the Machine, Millencolin, and, of course, Goldfinger.

Originally scheduled for April 2020, the speaking tour, titled “An Evening With Tony Hawk,” unfortunately had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, it’s finally happening, and Tony Hawk will grace the stages in Eora/Sydney at the Enmore Theatre on Friday, January 19, Naarm/Melbourne at The Athenaeum on Monday, January 22, and Meanjin/Brisbane at The Triffid on Thursday, January 25.
