Bun, two, three, sauce!

The entertainment has been announced for next weekend’s highly-anticipated Celebrity Sausage event and it’s piping hot.

The Burnt Sausages, “Australia’s premium BBQ punk band”, will be providing the musical accompaniment to the sausage sizzle, belting out their lip-smacking classics Song about Sauce, Too Many Onions, and Altercation at the Kids’ Table.

Think Bunnings Sundays, but better (if that could even be possible).

As part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, Fed Square will be taken over on April 1 and 2 for a fancy sausage sizzle. Some of Melbourne’s favourite local celebrities will take to the grill, offering up their gourmet takes on the Aussie classic.

Chrissie Swan, Christian Petracca, Senator Briggs, Virginia Trioli, Rhys Nicholson, Jacqui Felgate, Sarah Wilson, Karen Martini and others have designed ultimate sausage options, all to be served up on fluffy  Baker’s Delight buns.

On the menu so far? A pork adobo sausage with pineapple salsa and lime, a beef and beetroot sausage with bacon jam and cheese, and a lamb and harissa snag with yoghurt sauce and pickled onion salad.

The free sausage sizzle will be on Saturday and Sunday from 10:30am until sold out. At 1pm, The Burnt Sausages will take the stage for a performance so great it’ll have the audience drenched in greasy glory. The band has been a legend on the BBQ scene since the release of their 2015 debut, The White Bread Album.  Expect meaty mayhem.
