Tom Waits is set to appear in the Coen Brothers’ new movie

Late last year, the Coen Brothers announced they would be taking their storytelling talents to Netflix with a six-part Western anthology titled The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, set to premiere in 2018.

The project has seen been turned into a feature length film, set to premiere at Venice Film Festival before hitting cinemas around the country as well as the streaming giant, Netflix. The Ballad of Buster Scruggs will feature the likes of Liam Neeson Zoe Kazan and Tim Blake Nelson as well as the legendary musician, Tom Waits.

This will be Waits’ second film appearance this year, with the singer/songwriter also set to appear in the forthcoming true crime film The Old Man and the Gun alongside Robert Redford, Sissy Spacek and Danny Glover. Waits has appeared in a long list of films over the years, most recently appearing opposite Colin Farrell, Christopher Walken and Sam Rockwell in 2012 crime comedy Seven Psychopaths.

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs will debut in August at the Venice Film Festival. The film’s Netflix and cinema release dates are yet to be announced, though we can expect to see it sometime this year.
