A fan of brooding country folk? Add bother-sister outfit Tinpan Orange to your live music bucket list.
Coming off the back of a global tour, the band are returning to Australia for a homecoming single launch — bringing their new track ‘Wanderers’ to life.
Enjoying a watershed year in 2013 after taking out triple j’s Unearthed off the back of their folk pop gem ‘Barcelona’, Tinpan Orange has since gone on to release acclaimed albums Over the Sun and Love is a Dog.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably also heard lead singer Emily Lubitz’s voice on the viral PTV track, ‘Dumb Ways to Die’.
“We are really excited to bring our latest show to Hawthorn Arts Centre,” said guitarist Jesse Lubitz. “This will be the first Melbourne show since our European and Australian single tour, and we will be playing our new single Wanderers as well as trying out some new songs we’ve been working on.”
Throughout their time together, Tinpan Orange have shared the stage with Martha Wainright, The Cat Empire, The Waifs, Jen Cloher and Husky, as well as playing WOMAD, Laneway Festival, and Calgary Folk Festival.
