Thornbury Local is a real High Street gem, one of our favourite live music venues in the area, and it's turning on the charm over the next two months with a wicked gig lineup.
The two-storey venue has a bit of everything wrapped in an awesome, laid-back vibe. They’ll be putting on quite the schedule throughout March, so we figured we’d do a run-down of what they have to offer.
The undisputed highlight is definitely their live music program, with free gigs happening every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, which make them a real beacon for live music lovers northside, looking to check out some of the best up-and-coming talent doing the rounds.
Check out Melbourne’s most comprehensive gig guide here.
Their weekly staples are also top-notch, and we can recommend their free trivia nights hosted by the famous Darling every Tuesday, backed up by as many $12 pizzas as you can eat. On Wednesdays they do an open mic night from 8pm onwards alongside some ravishing $12 burgers. On Thursdays, it’s happy hour between 5-11pm and the kitchen dishes out $1 buffalo wings and buffalo cauliflower bites, and $9 pints.
But the main attraction has to be their bandroom, where over the coming month, you can catch the following (all for free):
Friday 11th Mar 8pm
Michael Meeking
Saturday 12 March 7:30pm
Katankin
Sunday 13 March 5pm
