This roaming festival night is taking over Fitzroy’s favourite bars

Fitzroy
words by sofia perica

Good Music Online is doing exactly what young people are craving right now: community, chaos in the best way, and cheap tickets that don’t drain your bank account, and Fitzroy is taking notice.

Started by four young creatives with a genuine love for the local scene, this grassroots collective is building something bigger than just another club night in Fitzroy.

They’re creating space for emerging bands, underground artists and music lovers who want more than overpriced drinks and a predictable playlist.

And the best part? They’re only just getting started.

Good Music nights have a different energy to your average club night. The DJs actually understand the assignment, spinning the songs you want to scream with your friends. Expect The Smiths, Oasis, The Strokes and all the indie anthems that defined your older sibling’s iPod. It’s nostalgic, chaotic and effortlessly cool.

Walk in and you’re transported straight back to the early 2000s. Smoke machines blur the room just enough. Indie sleaze outfits everywhere. People are talking, laughing and actually living in the moment instead of filming it. It’s just music and community colliding in the best way.

Now they’re taking things up a level

On March 8, Fitzroy’s most beloved streets will come alive for 3065Fest, a multi-venue celebration of Australia’s thriving indie scene. Three tickets give you access to three curated experiences, all within walking distance, turning the entire neighbourhood into one big, roaming party.

At The Evelyn Hotel you’ll catch Pretty Bleak, Kitty of the Valley, Left at the Avenue and Alice Ruby bringing their own flavour of indie energy to the stage. At Bar Open Stage, Redd., Champ Ruby and The Mundaynes promise loud guitars, big hooks and the kind of live sets that remind you why local music matters. Over at The Old Bar, Retail Therapy, Handgrenade Hearts, The Noise and Paradise Valley round out the lineup with raw, high-impact performances that will keep the momentum going all night.

With tickets starting at just $20, it’s easily one of the most affordable and exciting nights on Fitzroy’s calendar. Whether you’re there to discover your next favourite band, or just find a dance floor, 3065Fest is set to deliver.

What to expect?

If a loud, sweaty night of good music with good people sounds like your kind of weekend, 3065Fest is worth knowing about.
