Set to open in Collingwood for a good time (but not a long time) the Museum of Desire fuses sex and art.

Melbourne’s cultural scene is about to get a whole lot naughtier with the impending launch of the Museum of Desire, a provocative, immersive art experience set to open in December 2024 in Collingwood.

This 18+ playground promises to challenge societal norms around love, sex and desire, inviting patrons to step into a realm where sensuality meets artistic expression.

Picture this: a place where every corner sparks curiosity, and every installation invites interaction. With over 25 uniquely themed spaces, the Museum offers a tantalizing journey through human fancy.

Fancy strumming an Orgasm Harp to create euphoric sounds? Or perhaps you’re keen to leave your mark in the Kissing Booth? The Joy Room, a playful ball pit filled with oversized breasts, will make sure your inner child is entertained while your adult self revels in cheeky exploration.

This isn’t your run-of-the-mill museum experience. The Museum of Desire is an audacious celebration of eroticism wrapped in modern art – and a pretty bold first date spot.

Visitors can also sneak a peek into the Masturbatorium of Past Encounters — a voyeuristic dive into the unfiltered escapades of others. For those with a penchant for office antics, the Confessions of a Photocopier installation is bound to spark both giggles and gasps.

With the Infinity & Beyond space showcasing mind-bending projections from local artists The Huxleys, and a communal wall projection inviting guests to contribute their own artistic interpretations of body parts, this museum is a playground for the adventurous.

So whether you’re planning a sultry date night or a wild outing with mates, the Museum of Desire is shaping up to be Melbourne’s hottest new destination.

A waitlist opens at 9am on October 24, allowing eager fans early access before tickets go live for the general public on October 30. More information here.
