Arcane Fairies bar is now slinging drinks through the air via overhead zip-lines in Melbourne.
Melbourne’s got a new nightlife spectacle, and yeah, the cocktails literally fly. Arcane Fairies just opened on Lonsdale Street with Australia’s first zip-line cocktail delivery system, a new Melbourne bar for the books.
Over 50 metres of overhead zip-lines send drinks gliding from the bar straight to booth seating below. Every round becomes a bit of a show as cocktails sail through the air and land at your table. It’s theatrical, unexpected and genuinely pretty wild to watch.

Tucked beneath towering fairies, twisted nests and glowing curiosities, Melbourne bar, Arcane Fairies leans into speakeasy vibes with a rock ‘n’ roll edge. Booth seating keeps things intimate while a classic jukebox pumps out anthems under the watchful gaze of those overhead fairies.
At the heart of it all sits the dramatic fairy chest bar, home to signature elixirs, craft beers, Guinness on tap and a back bar stacked with rare spirits and glowing specimen jars. Turn a hidden key somewhere in the venue and you’ll unlock a secret surprise built into the space itself.
Director Steve Thomas oversaw the entire design and build from scratch, including engineering the zip-line system. His previous venues include Storyville, Pawn & Co and 29th Apartment, but Arcane Fairies pushes things into new territory. It’s immersive, playful and unapologetically irreverent.
Celebrity chef Jake Warhurst is handling the kitchen, bringing a menu built for late-night indulgence. His resume includes Michelin-starred and hatted kitchens worldwide, plus stints cooking for Drake, Richard Branson, George Clooney and NBA star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. He was Head Chef on Branson’s private island before touring the US as Drake’s personal chef. At Arcane Fairies, he’s serving up cult-favourite smash burgers loaded with Warface Sauce, fiery Nashville hot chicken and Melbourne-exclusive folded pizzettas. Spicy noodles, gluten-free and vegan options round out a menu designed to match the venue’s bold energy.
Everything here was designed around letting go. Cocktails fly, music pounds and the night can genuinely go anywhere. It’s escapism with bite, built for late nights and high energy.
