This Halloween, five death metal bands are taking over Bergy Bandroom

Bergy Bandroom
words by staff writer

Forget fun-sized lollies, because Melbourne’s Most Frightening is serving up a Halloween feast of death metal at Bergy Bandroom.

Melbourne’s Most Frightening is presented by Fullnoise Artists and lands on 31 October, with five acts sharing the Bergy Bandroom stage.

Gutless, Tumour, Scattered Limbs, Death Tax and Blight make up the bill, so every slot on the night is filled by a different act. It gives death metal fans somewhere to spend Halloween that isn’t a costume party, and organisers are telling punters to come prepared for the pit.

The night kicks off with doors at 7pm, and the first band, Blight, hits the stage at 7.30pm for a half-hour set.

Death Tax follow from 8.20pm to 8.50pm, before Scattered Limbs take over from 9.10pm until 9.40pm.

Tumour are up next, playing from 10pm to 10.30pm, which leaves Gutless to close things out with a longer 45-minute set from 10.50pm to 11.35pm.

Every band gets a 20-minute changeover, so there’s time to grab a drink, catch your breath or work your way back to the front.

From doors to the final note, that’s just over four and a half hours of heavy music, and the whole lot wraps up before midnight.

That means Halloween is covered from the first riff to the last, with five different bands and five different sets along the way.
