Brunswick ceramicist Lunipots is hosting Sound Sculpting, an evening blending clay play with ambient music at local artist hub, Shell Space.
Sound Sculpting offers something completely different from your typical Friday night out. Swap out your typical bar haunt and get your hands dirty with clay while DJs spin chill ambient and dub sets in the beautiful Brunswick spot.
Lunipots is bringing together her love of ceramics and music for an evening that’s all about reconnecting with your inner child. The concept deliberately steers away from traditional workshop formats or club events. There’s no pressure to create perfect pottery pieces or learn specific techniques, just enjoy.
Three collaborative clay sculptures will be set up around the venue for participants to explore and shape in response to the music. The evening embraces the temporary nature of creation; at the end of the night, all the sculptures get dismantled and the clay recycled. It’s about appreciating the process rather than keeping a finished product.

The lineup features four DJs, Kedú, Kodi Lotto, LUNA and Yollks, driving the evening’s soundtrack of ambient and dub music designed to inspire exploration and play. Each participant receives a small handmade treasure to take home, even though the main clay creations won’t survive the night.
Tickets are limited due to the intimate nature of the event, with organisers recommending arrival at 6pm sharp to maximise the clay playing experience. The venue encourages dancing alongside the hands-on creative activities.
