Producers, sample choppers, and loop-layers — get your beats ready. Section 8 is bringing back their legendary beat battle FLIP this King’s Birthday public holiday and it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest throwdowns yet.
Twelve of the sharpest producers in the city will go head-to-head in a knockout-style battle where only one will be crowned Section 8 Beat Battle Champion. It’s free to enter, but spots are limited and competition is fierce — so if you’ve got the chops, now’s the time to show it.

The battle unfolds over a series of rounds: top 12, top 6, then top 3 — until there’s one beatmaker left standing. Each round gets tougher, the beats get bigger, and the energy goes through the roof.
Expect an all-star judging panel, massive prizes, and a crowd that’s ready to get rowdy. Once the battle wraps, the party keeps going with a DJ-fuelled afterparty running late into the night.
