CLOSER

Ukraine’s Nechto label boss Nastia leads the field, one of the best success stories to come out of Eastern Europe’s club scene over the past decade. Emerging from a small village to global success with little formal training, the former Arma17 resident DJ has become a major force within the global heavy techno scene, especially within its heartland in eastern and central Europe.

“I love my hobby, which transformed into my profession and my way of life during recent years,” Nastia said. “My aim is to see as many people as possible on the dancefloor and to dance with them, leading the mood with what unites us all – music. I am what I do.”

Filling out the lineup, Birmingham born, Berlin-based DJ, producer, live act and label owner Rebekah comes to Melbourne after winning DJ Mag’s Best Producer in 2018, bringing her sensational live presence.

German duo SHDW & Obscure Shape (Marco Bläsi and Luigi Urban) founded label From Another Mind in 2015 after their Stuttgart parties, recently releasing the critically-acclaimed Die Wei e Rose EP, and re-working the likes of Rødhåd, Tale of Us, Dax J and James Ruskin. “We have the same vision of techno. We are two people but sometimes we act as one,” says Luigi, Marco continues: “It’s like a symbiosis.”
