A cult UK cabaret hit is coming back to Melbourne to howl at the moors all over again at Arts Centre Melbourne.
An Evening Without Kate Bush, the wildly popular cabaret tribute starring Sarah-Louise Young, is heading back to Fairfax Studio at Arts Centre Melbourne after a sold-out run last year.
Following its triumphant return to Melbourne in 2025, An Evening Without Kate Bush will take over Fairfax Studio from 13-18 October 2026, giving local Fish People another chance to lose themselves in the mythology of one of pop’s most singular voices.

The show is less a straightforward tribute act and more a deep, affectionate dive into Kate Bush’s music, her devoted fandom and the strange, wonderful world she built across her career.
Expect all the big ones – Running Up That Hill, Cloudbusting and The Man With The Child In His Eyes – alongside curious bootlegs, B-sides and inventive reworkings of This Woman’s Work and Babooshka.
It’s a set list built for die-hards and curious newcomers alike, blending genuine reverence with a healthy dose of theatrical mischief.
Young’s performance has been the driving force behind the show’s success, with inventive stagecraft and a genuinely impressive voice carrying the production well beyond novelty tribute territory.
The show draws on years of research into Bush’s catalogue and her famously dedicated fan base, unpacking why her influence has only grown since she first hit the UK charts back in 1978.
An Evening Without Kate Bush has built up serious runs on the way to Melbourne. It’s notched up three sold-out seasons at Edinburgh Fringe, two stints in London’s West End at Soho Theatre, and toured the United Kingdom from 2020 through to 2026.
Locally, it played to full houses across Australasia in 2025, following earlier seasons at Sydney Festival, Adelaide Fringe and Perth’s Fringe World in 2024, plus Adelaide Cabaret Festival in 2023.
