There’s a human puppy parade happening at Oz Kink Fest’s Collingwood market

Oz Kink Fest

Oz Kink Fest is turning Collingwood Town Hall into a bustling fetish market on Saturday March 12, and a human puppy parade is just one of the attractions.

Oz Kink Fest prides itself on educating, celebrating and de-stigmatising fetishes and alternative lifestyles, so after an enforced COVID hibernation, they’re returning with a highly-varied market experience at Collingwood Town Hall.

The Fetish Market is primarily a market, with over 40 stalls, each featuring a wide array of products pertaining to each and every desire. But the market will also be a celebration of the fetish community’s return to communal events. As a result, it will contain splashes of the sort of performances you’ll be familiar with if you’ve attended one of Oz Kink Fest’s events in the past.

Perhaps most notably, there’ll be a human puppy parade, in which leather-clad contestants dive into the unique sub-culture of animalistic cosplay. The people involved take the process fairly seriously; trying to inhabit the animal’s headspace and take on a four legged identity.

What’s more, the contestant judged to have ‘the most authentic puppy attitude’ will receive $200 donated by Oz Kink Fest and a whopping $1200 worth of shibari rope class vouchers from Mickey D of Affirmation Connections.

The competition is supported by Oz Kink Fest, Melbourne Rubber, and VicPAH – and it’s just one of the events that will give the market its festival vibe, with live DJs, demonstrations, performances and parades all taking place across the day on March 12.

“Everyone should be explore their hidden desires and utmost fantasies in a safe, informative, and social environment,” Fetish Market organiser Mz Mallice said. “The fetish/leather/kink/alternative lifestyle community in Melbourne is quite large and continually growing. Gone are the days of brown paper bags and brisk walks of shame to the car. The people that attend these events are your baristas, neighbours and tax accountants – they aren’t always wearing a harness or ballgag (but it’s ok if they
are too).

“This is an extremely diverse, open and accepting community that is at its strongest when we can gather and the Oz Kink Fest Fetish Market is a COVID-safe offering that will allow us to do just that.”
