The West’s best food and music festival is back and better than ever

The best food and music festival in Melbourne’s West – Flavour Fest – is back and better than ever with a delicious blend of taste sensations, kids activities and chart-topping music artists to take centre stage on Saturday 2 March, 12pm to 9pm.

Proudly presented by Melton City Council and Woodlea in celebration of community, culture and cuisine, the free event will include tasty bites from Victoria’s most popular food trucks and a stellar lineup of music artists who will have the crowd dancing into the sunset.

Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around Melbourne here.

With sweet sounds kicking off from 3pm at the Main Stage, artists include the Pierce Brothers, Steph Strings, Kitschen Boy, Mitch Santiago, and D’Arcy Spiller.

Before the stage lights up, the afternoon is reserved for all things tasty with Melbourne’s best food trucks, from Big Boy BBQ, the pioneer of American-style BBQ in Melbourne, Hoy Pinoy, a Filipino BBQ truck, 400 Gradi, serving authentic Italian woodfired pizza, and many more.

A dedicated ‘Sweet Life’ zone will ensure that all sweet tooths get a taste of the best desserts Melbourne has to offer, including cakes, greek doughnuts, gelato, and more!

For those over 18, Flavour Fest’s dedicated Beer Garden is a must-visit, showcasing local boutique brewers, wine distillers and artisan spirits from Melbourne’s West, including the likes of ReWine, Wonki, and The Prosecco Van.

Families will find plenty of fun at the ‘Play Zone’, with a sustainability-focused immersive art experience by the Slow Art Collective, plus roving artists and plenty of other interactive activities.

Other featured zones include ‘Wellness by Woodlea’, where guests can find inner peace with activities that encourage mindfulness and feel-good vibes. They can then enter the ‘Community Zone’ to enjoy a range of local-led activations.

Designed as a fun-filled day for the whole family, Flavour Fest will further entertain guests with a giant Ferris Wheel and multiple rides, along with free crafts and interactive experiences. The festival will conclude with an epic firework display, adding to the magic of the event.

City of Melton Mayor Cr Kathy Majdlik said Council is pleased to be partnering again with Woodlea to deliver a quality family-friendly festival that will showcase great Australian music and delicious food to the community.

“Flavour Fest is a chance for residents to celebrate what they love about where they live and for visitors to get a taste of what the West has to offer. Not only is this going to be a fantastic day out for everyone, but it is an opportunity to highlight and support some of the West’s amazing boutique food businesses and talented artists,” Cr Majdlik said.

Woodlea Project Director Matthew Dean is excited to see Flavour Fest grow to new heights in 2024, providing an unmatched experience for Melbourne’s West.

“Flavour Fest is a much-loved and anticipated event in the Woodlea calendar. We’re looking forward to welcoming some of Australia’s most esteemed musicians and hospitality businesses to Woodlea, and showcase everything our growing community has to offer,” said Matthew.
